SISEARCHOPTIMIZATION

MEASUREMENT

Observe the answer.
Follow the evidence.

A useful report tells you what was measured, what changed, and what the data cannot establish.

01 / A REPEATABLE METHOD

Start with questions
that matter to buyers.

Build a defined set of questions around priority capabilities, product requirements, applications, and relevant geography. Keep brand-led questions separate from category research. A question that names your company tests something different from an open supplier search.

Record the platform, date, question wording, relevant settings, response, and sources. Review whether the information about the company is accurate. Repeat checks instead of treating one answer as a permanent result.

Do not combine incompatible observations into a precise-looking universal score. If a report uses a percentage, disclose the denominator and the sampling method. A result from twenty selected questions describes those observations, not the entire market.

02 / KEEP THE SIGNALS SEPARATE

Visibility is one part
of the picture.

SignalWhat it can tell youWhat it cannot prove alone
MentionThe business appeared in an observed answerThat the description was accurate or a buyer acted
CitationA response referenced a particular sourceThat every claim in the response is supported
AccuracyAn observed statement matched verified factsThat every future answer will do the same
ReferralA recorded visitor arrived through an identifiable sourceThat all AI-influenced visits are identifiable
Qualified inquiryA contact met agreed fit criteriaThat one content change caused the inquiry
Revenue outcomeA recorded opportunity or sale progressedThe independent contribution of each discovery touchpoint

03 / EXAMPLE REPORT STRUCTURE

An observation log.
Not a victory screenshot.

ILLUSTRATIVE TEMPLATE · NO LIVE DATA

Question
Which suppliers support [verified requirement] in [relevant location]?
Observation
Record the exact response and cited sources.
Fact check
Compare the stated capability with approved documentation.
Limitation
One platform, one context, one point in time.
Next action
Investigate a specific missing or inaccurate public fact.

The template shows what a useful observation contains. It intentionally includes no invented rankings, uplift percentages, or customer results. Any published case study should state its actual source, timeframe, scope, and limitations.

04 / THE BUSINESS CONNECTION

Measure the work
your team experiences.

Alongside visibility checks, agree on business questions. Are visitors finding relevant product information? Are sales engineers repeating the same clarifications? Do incoming inquiries include the details needed to evaluate fit?

Use analytics and CRM information where available and appropriate. This website uses the supplied Plausible installation for aggregate website analytics. Specialized conversion events should only be reported after they are actually configured and validated.

The best next step may be an information correction rather than another page. Reporting should help the team choose useful action, not simply produce more charts.
