SISEARCHOPTIMIZATION

SEO · GEO · SSO

New questions.
Solid foundations.

Search is changing. Useful information, technical accessibility, and credible evidence still deserve your attention.

01 / THE COMPARISON

Different perspectives.
Connected work.

ApproachPrimary focusTypical workWhat to observe
SEODiscovery through search enginesTechnical accessibility, helpful content, relevant internal links, site structureSearch visibility, useful visits, conversions
GEOInformation in generative search experiencesSource clarity, answer accuracy, relevant evidence, observation of citationsSampled mentions and citations, accuracy, referrals
SSO · our frameworkBusiness understanding across increasingly capable discovery systemsSEO foundations plus product facts, company consistency, evidence ownership, buyer workflowsInformation quality, repeatable observations, inquiry quality, operational effort

These categories overlap. The table is a practical comparison, not an official taxonomy. SSO is our framing of connected work; it does not replace a search platform’s own guidance or establish a new technical standard.

02 / WHAT STAYS

Keep what already
helps your buyers.

Your website still needs to work. Important pages should load, internal links should be usable, and meaningful information should be available in text. A product page should give visitors a clear path from specification to supporting documentation and inquiry.

Existing SEO work may already address much of this. An SSO assessment should recognize that work and identify a specific additional contribution. A new acronym is not a reason to repeat a completed audit.

The shift in emphasis is toward evaluation: which facts help a system or person understand whether a supplier fits a requirement? Those facts may live outside the marketing team’s usual content process. Engineering, product management, and sales can therefore become important contributors.

The resulting work can be very concrete: reconcile product identifiers, publish an accurate capability summary, clarify the status of a certification, or connect an application page to its source documentation.

03 / AVOID THE DETOURS

No special shortcut.
No guaranteed answer.

Does adding structured data guarantee AI visibility?
No. Relevant structured data can describe visible information, but it does not force a platform to retrieve, cite, or recommend the business. Use it accurately where it serves a defined purpose.
Should we rewrite everything for AI?
Begin with your users and information gaps. Some pages may need a substantial revision; others may already answer buyer questions well. Make changes because they improve usefulness or accuracy.
Should we replace our SEO agency?
Not automatically. Compare the proposed work with the current team’s responsibilities. Agree on ownership and dependencies before adding another provider.
Do we need an llms.txt file?
We do not treat this as a prerequisite or ranking mechanism. Google states that it ignores these files for Search. Prioritize accessible, useful, accurate pages first.
